In 2008, Birgit and Jose Alves took over the former owner's residence of the long-gone work and sportswear manufacturer Kempel & Leibfried AG on the outskirts of Bad Urach to offer vacation apartments as a sideline business. By a successful first restauration after a long vacancy the extraordinary building from 1870 with its overgrown garden awaked from its Sleeping Beauty sleep already in 1992 before takeover. After beeing lovingly redesigned, updated and stylishly furnished by the new owners , the Alves family opened 2008 the doors for the first time to the vacation apartment Hohenurach of the Villa Marina, now named after the families daughter. One year later the apartment Michelskäppele followed and after a longer restauration of a former carpenter's workshop also the apartment Güterstein. Particularly much love and the distinktive influence of Jose Alves' homeland Portugal mark the breathtaking Mediterranean garden of the villa Marina, which family Alves converted over four years of untiring work and care beside the vacation home enterprise to a true paradise for guests.
